Atsuko Hirose: Major investments needed for just energy transition

Huge investments are needed to ensure a just energy transition, said acting Secretary General of the International Energy Charter, Atsuko Hirose, speaking at the Baku Energy Forum, Report informs.

According to her, a just energy transition is important to combat climate change: “To ensure this energy transition, it is not enough just funding from governments and organizations, huge investments are needed.”

“Our organization is the only one working in the field of long-term energy cooperation,” she said.

Hirose emphasized that mobilizing investment in turn requires predictable returns.
