TV Studio opens in Baku State Vocational Education Centre in Buzovna

The EU, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and Azerbaijan’s State Agency on Vocational Education (SAVE) have held an opening event for a new TV Studio, Report informs.

The TV Studio is located in the Buzovna area of Baku, and was reconstructed in the Baku State Vocational Education Centre on Culture and Crafts as part of the EU-funded “VET for the Future” project, which is implemented by UNDP.

The opening event of the studio brought together Deputy Minister of Science and Education Idris Isayev, the head of executive power of Khazar district Elshan Salahov, as well as other official representatives and education experts.

Speaking at the opening of the studio, Deputy Minister of Education of Azerbaijan Idris Isayev noted that the development of various areas in such educational centers is of great importance. New centers are being opened in Azerbaijan and the range of areas of study is expanding. “The specialties acquired during the training are in demand on the labor market, graduates quickly find a job,” he said.

According to the deputy minister, a new vocational school will also be opened in Jalalabad soon, they are also being built in Lankaran and a number of other regions.

“The studio is one of the positive results of our joint cooperation, the most modern technologies will be used here. It provides everything necessary for inclusive education,” Nuno Queiroz, UNDP Resident Representative in Azerbaijan, said at the opening.

He said that the studio will contribute to the creation of new jobs, both students and representatives of the private sector will be able to work here together.

“To find a decent job in the labor market, it is of great importance for young people to acquire modern skills for modern professions and to learn new technologies. Helping to create such spaces to learn practical and labor-driven knowledge gives us an opportunity to contribute to the achievement of a number of Sustainable Development Goals that relate to decent work and economic development”, said Nuno Queiroz.

In turn, the head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan, Peter Michalko, noted that the EU is a strategic partner of Azerbaijan in the field of education. The parties are working together on various areas, including the improvement and modernization of education, he said.

“This is yet another proof that when we work together we reach great heights,” he said, noting that in Azerbaijan, as well as throughout the world, the market develops and changes very quickly, which requires new areas of education.
