Spelling dictionary of Azerbaijan language will be re-issued

Baku. 19 October. REPORT.AZ/ At the Institute of Linguistics named after Nasimi of ANAS (Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences) under the leadership of Tofig Hajiyev was held a meeting of the Spelling Commission.

Report was told at the Institute of ANAS.

The meeting discussed the matters arising in regard with the spelling dictionary.

Director of the Institute of Linguistics, Professor T. Hajiyev noted that in the letter, the development of language culture of each nation spelling rules play an important role.

At the meeting, it was stressed that the Commission should make greater efforts to re-spelling dictionary, evaluation of the proposals, to eliminate deficiencies.

Speaking at the meeting, the current editor of the dictionary, Professor Ismayil Mamedov said that the dictionary includes 110 thousand lexical units: "The new edition will be excluded some artificially formed words."

The 6th edition of the spelling dictionary was published in 2013.
