Number of Azerbaijani students studying abroad named

Baku. 24 January. REPORT.AZ/ Currently, 117 thousand children and 14% of children aged 1-5 are being educated in 1 656 public and 66 private preschool institutions of Azerbaijan.

Report informs referring to State Statistical Committee (SSC), according to the report, today, 972 out of every 1,000 people under 15 have post-secondary, secondary and vocational degree.

4 238 foreign citizens from 63 countries study at the universities in Azerbaijan. Citizens of Turkey, Iran, Russia, Georgia, Turkmenistan, Iraq and People's Republic of China are among foreign students.

In 2016/2017 academic year the number of students studying abroad by support of the State programme on education abroa amounted to 2197.

63.0 % young people studying abroad are graduates of Baku, 37.0 % are graduates of schools located in different regions of Azerbaijan. The majority of students are studying in higher education institutions of Turkey, UK, Germany, Russia and Canada.
