Baku Higher Oil School conducts Knowledge contest with support from Youth Foundation Baku. 8 January. REPORT.AZ/ Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) hosted a Knowledge contest entitled “Young chemical engineers”. It was organized with financial support from the Youth Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The contest was conducted in the framework of the project implemented by BHOS third-year Chemical Engineering student Gulshan Ismayilova who became one the winners of the XI Grant Competition held by the Youth Foundation last year. The project’s main objective was to raise young people’s interest in science and modern manufacturing. In the course of the contest, the participants were to demonstrate their knowledge of the chemical production and technology as well as of the latest trends in the global development of chemical engineering industry.

Baku. 8 January. REPORT.AZ/ Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) hosted a Knowledge contest entitled “Young chemical engineers”. It was organized with financial support from the Youth Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The contest was conducted in the framework of the project implemented by BHOS third-year Chemical Engineering student Gulshan Ismayilova who became one the winners of the XI Grant Competition held by the Youth Foundation last year. The project’s main objective was to raise young people’s interest in science and modern manufacturing. In the course of the contest, the participants were to demonstrate their knowledge of the chemical production and technology as well as of the latest trends in the global development of chemical engineering industry.

Nearly 150 Chemical Engineering students applied for participation in the contest, which was announced at national universities, via social networks and youth student organizations. About 100 future chemical engineers and young professionals who successfully passed registration and selection process were invited to attend the contest. During the first stage of the competition, they were assigned to answer 10 open-ended questions, and in the course of the second stage, the participants were tasked to answer 20 test questions.

BHOS third-year Chemical Engineering students Kanan Gojayev and Gulnar Sadigova who were recognized the best took the first and second places respectively. BHOS graduate, young chemical engineer Sayida Aleskerova and third-year student of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University Muhammad Guliyev shared the third place. The winners were awarded diplomas and valuable gifts. Another 20 project participants who demonstrated good results received certificates and memorable gifts.
