Wildfires start in forests of Azerbaijan's Guba, Shabran districts

A wildfire has started in the forested mountainous areas of the Guba and Shabran districts of Azerbaijan, Report informs, citing Irada Ibrahimova, press secretary of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.

According to her, the local bodies of the National Fire and Rescue Service and the State Fire Protection Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are currently taking measures to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading to other areas: “The weather has been hot and dry in recent days, increasing the possibility of wildfires. Taking this into account, we ask everyone, including residents of villages close to forested areas and tourists, to strictly follow fire safety rules, to be careful with fire, and not to throw unextinguished cigarette butts around.”
