Water issues in Azerbaijan are deepening due to climate change, as well as due to the fact that more than 70% of Azerbaijan’s water resources originate in neighboring countries, UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan Vladanka Andreeva said at the International Water Conference on “Promoting Partnerships and Activities for Sustainable Water Management,” Report informs.
She noted that regional cooperation in this area is the key to solving this problem, adding that a huge number of people in the world do not have access to clean drinking water.
The UN office will continue to work on projects to improve the climate and manage water resources in Azerbaijan, Andreeva said.
