Rashad Allahverdiyev: Bison imported to Azerbaijan were selected with respect to climatic features

The bison brought to Azerbaijan are specially selected taking into account the climatic features and genetics of the previously imported bison, Rashad Allahverdiyev, Deputy Head of the Biological Diversity Protection Service of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, told the Western bureau of Report.

According to him, it is planned to bring nine more bison from various European zoos to Azerbaijan.

"The bison will first be brought to the territory of the Shahdag National Park, where they will stay for some time, and then they will be released into the wild," Allahverdiyev said.
