A pilot project is being implemented in Baku to support the feeding of stray animals.
Arzu Samadova, an official with the Biodiversity Protection Service, told Report that the stalls for feeding stray animals were first set up outside the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.
Arzu Samadova noted that in order to save energy, the booths are provided with solar energy:
"One of the two booths will work through payments, and another one will work on the basis of the mechanism of utilizing used plastic containers, which will make possible the purchase of 40 grams of food. Plastic wastes collected in the booth will be recycled by AzEkol company. The aim of the pilot project is to inoculate a tradition of showing compassion and love for stray animals in need of care, as well as to support the recycling of plastic wastes.”
