Azerbaijan intends to closely cooperate with the UN in the field of environmental protection and water management, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan Mukhtar Babayev told journalists, Report informs.
“We have already developed some programs, they have already been discussed, and now they are also on our agenda. The UN experience in this area is very important for us. Therefore, we place more emphasis on technical assistance, support for ideas and projects related to solving environmental problems,” said Babayev.
He noted that Azerbaijan adopts the best world experience in the field of environmental protection and intends to apply it in the liberated territories: “It is very important for us to implement these projects in the liberated territories, which mainly affect agriculture, ecosystem improvement, urban development and such project as a 'smart city' and 'smart village.' Our goal is to achieve 'zero gas emissions' in the liberated territories by 2050. Therefore, we will work hard to achieve all the goals.”
