The biggest national park in Transcaucasia

Shahdag National Park is one of the specially protected natural areas in Azerbaijan. Shahdag National Park. With territory of 130 508.1 hectares Shahdag National Park is the largest national park not only in Azerbaijan, but even in the South Caucasus. The National Park is located in administrative areas of Ismayilli, Guba, Gusar, Gabala, Oghuz and Shamakhi regions.

The National Park's Administrative Building Complex has work rooms, library and conference rooms that meet the modern requirements. At the Ecotourism Center there were created conditions for wildlife observation, information for tourists, use of the guide service, lease of tourist equipment and the nature museum.

Checkpoints created in Laza of Gusar region, Khinalig of Guba region, Galaybughur of Shamakhi region, Buynuz of Ismayilli region, Bash Dashagil village of Oguz region and in mountainous areas of Gabala region.There is a live camera system that monitors various areas of the National Park.

The highest places in Azerbaijan

Shahdag National Park covers the highest mountainous areas of Azerbaijan. The National Park is surrounded by a very large area, where both clean and mixed forests are encountered. The forests on the territory of the National Park originate mainly from iberia and eastern oaks, eastern peanuts and Caucasian hornbeam tree. The Shahdag National Park has very rich animal world.

Birds such as thrush, quail, oriole, crow, mammals such as roe, wild boar, brown bears, jackals, rabbits, squirrels, wolves, foxes, deer, raccoon, forest cat, goat, badger and others.

The territory of the Shahdag National Park is specially protected. Unlawful entry, logging, hunting, setting tents and setting fires are forbidden.

Two AZN

The park is open daily from 09:00 to 18:00 except Sunday. The National Park has 49 routes. The entry cost is 2 AZN, for children under 6 years old - free.
