EDF: Waste disposal 'critical issue facing entire world'

The problem of waste disposal is a critical issue facing the entire world today. According to Professor Steven Hamburg, the chief scientist at the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF), the concentration of methane in countless landfills worldwide far exceeds safe levels, posing a grave threat to environment.
According to Report, speaking at a panel session titled "Progress in Combating Methane: Advancing Global Methane Reduction" during the Baku Climate Action Week, Professor Hamburg emphasized the urgent need to address this crisis.
"Tackling the methane problem is not an easy task," Professor Hamburg acknowledged. "It cannot be eliminated overnight, as it requires complex technology. Howeverm it must be introduced step by step."
