Ecology ministry: Natural areas most prone to fires in hot and dry weather

The observed increase in temperature and drought in climatic conditions around the world increase the risk of fires in natural areas, Report informs, quoting Irada Ibrahimova, the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan.

She noted that natural areas, green spaces, including pastures, and forests, are most prone to fires in hot and dry weather: “Given this, we must behave as carefully as possible while being in nature. We ask residents of settlements located close to forests, tourists relaxing in the bosom of nature, to strictly observe fire safety rules on hot summer days, be careful with fire, not to scatter unextinguished cigarette butts. We should know that carelessness and negligence of each of us can lead to strong fires."

According to the National Hydrometeorological Service, hot weather in the country will be observed until August 20.
