A tree-planting campaign was held in the Mushvigabad settlement of Baku as part of the Japan-Azerbaijan Friendship Year 2022, Report informs.
Thus, 3,000 different species of trees adapted to the climate of the Absheron Peninsula were planted on 3 hectares during the campaign to make a symbolic contribution to the relations between the two countries.
This action was the beginning of a series of events to be held throughout the year, such as the opening of the Year of Japan-Azerbaijan Friendship.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and the Embassy of Japan in Azerbaijan.
Ministry officials, Japanese Ambassador to Azerbaijan Junichi Wada, Director of Itochu Baku Office Yasuhiro Nakajima, eco-volunteers, students of Sakura Club of Baku State University, Azerbaijan University of Languages and ADA University, students of "yapon.az" Japanese Language and Culture Center, Zirve Lyceum, teachers and students of secondary school No. 225, and other fans of Japan attended the event.
Since the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Japan falls on September 7, the year 2022 is marked as the "Year of Japan-Azerbaijan Friendship" and a series of events are planned.
