Azerbaijan to apply new weather surveillance radar to get more accurate forecasts next year

Baku. 14 December. REPORT.AZ/ "Next year, the weather surveillance radar system will be applied in Azerbaijan to get more accurate weather forecasts," Umayra Tagiyeva, Director of the National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources said.

She said that the weather surveillance radar system is widely used in the world: "This system will give you an opportunity to increase the accuracy of short-term forecasts. It will allow us to predict precipitation in any area of the city in five hours. Up to now it was difficult to provide such an accurate information Because the existing devices did not allow us to give such precise information. The system is to be applied in the country next year."
