Azerbaijan, India signed MoU on environmental protection: Deputy Minister

Business dialogues, exhibition, in which Azerbaijani and Indian businessmen participated, encourage investors of both countries to learn business environment, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Novruz Guliyev said at Azerbaijan-India business symposium, Report informs.

Minister Mukhtar Babayev is the co-chair of Azerbaijan-India Intergovernmental Commission from Azerbaijani side.

Noting the role of the commission in development of economic ties between the two countries, Guliyev said that five meetings have been held so far.

Moreover, according to him, Azerbaijan and India have signed Memorandum of Understanding on environmental protection. The document is now being considered by the opposite side.

In the nine months of 2019, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and India amounted to $929 million. Currently, 170 Indian companies are operating in Azerbaijan.
