Automatic weather stations to be commissioned in territory of Karabakh

In the first half of this year, it is planned to put automatic weather stations into operation as part of the restoration of 5 meteorological stations in Shusha, Aghdam, Fuzuli, Kalbajar, and Zangilan districts, said Rafig Verdiyev, an official of the National Hydrometeorological Service, Report informs.

Verdiyev said that modern automated stations create the basis for increasing the quantitative and qualitative indicators of information transmitted to both national and international broadcasting:

"In the field of hydrology alone, 40 of the most modern European-made automatic stations have been installed on large rivers in the last 3 years and are operating online. Through 11 of them, both the amount of water in the rivers in the territory of Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur economic regions and the quality of water in transboundary rivers are controlled."
