US Ambassador to Azerbaijan summoned to Foreign Ministry

The US Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Earle Litzenberger, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and met with Deputy FM Khalaf Khalafov, Report says, citing the press service of the Foreign Ministry.

During the meeting, Khalafov informed the Ambassador about the military provocation committed by Armenia on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border.

The Deputy Minister noted that after the Armenians' failed provocation on the border, the Armenian militaristic authorities began to commit attacks and provocations against the diplomatic missions of Azerbaijan and our compatriots abroad in Armenian-populated cities to conceal the occupation policy of the Armenian government.

The Deputy Minister noted that the Armenians are launching attacks and provocations on the diplomatic missions of Azerbaijan. Several such provocations were committed in the United States, on July 21 before Embassy in Washington, and in Los Angeles, etc.

Ambassador Litzenberger noted that he would raise the issues discussed at the meeting, including additional measures to ensure the security of Azerbaijan's diplomatic missions in the United States before official Washington.
