"Strong leader crucial to prevent recurrence of Kazakhstan events"

"A strong leader and political will are vital to prevent the repetition of the events in Kazakhstan in other nations. We are a happy people that we have a strong leader like President Ilham Aliyev in Azerbaijan. Ilham Aliyev demonstrates foresight, political will, and determination in all political processes,” MP Vugar Iskandarov has told Report.

He stressed that the recent events in Kazakhstan are a manifestation of many issues: "Most importantly, it becomes obvious once again that only a well-thought-out, pragmatic policy, successful social projects can lead to success in governance. The destabilization of Kazakhstan, the killing of people, looting and plundering are, of course, unfortunate. But it once again stresses an important aspect, that is, a strong leadership factor."

The parliamentarian said that the president of Azerbaijan has an uncompromising stance against officials, who are alien to the people.

“Mr. President has repeatedly touched upon the arbitrariness of officials in his speeches and has taken the most serious measures against them. At the same time, the president took strict measures against officials, who behaved excessively, and dismissed them. These officials were held accountable before justice. In addition, the president took a very tough stance against the arbitrariness of the oligarchs. Of course, all these are highly valued by the people."

MP Jeyhun Mammadov also noted that today Azerbaijan has a strong and principled leader in the example of President Ilham Aliyev.

"I think this is an issue of special importance in the governance of each country. The unity between the people and the authorities is at a high level in the country. President Ilham Aliyev rules the country with great foresight and wisdom. Our country is constantly fighting against negative cases."

The MP stressed that President Ilham Aliyev has repeatedly reacted harshly and concretely to the arbitrariness of officials.

"He issued serious warnings and took measures and removed them from office. These officials were also made accountable to the court of justice. Everyone knows that the rule of law in Azerbaijan has been identified as a priority of the state policy. As a result of this policy, the number of such cases has sharply dropped in recent years. Today, the president of Azerbaijan is an ideal example of simplicity and sincere relations with people. Everyone should follow this example; all officials should make this behavior a way of life. Those who do not comply are always severely punished. No one will be spared. I think that everyone should draw conclusions from serious punitive measures. High development and progress can be achieved only in this way."
