MP: Azerbaijan's policy on evacuation from Ukraine - example for other countries

Azerbaijan has always done everything possible to ensure the safety of its citizens, member of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis (Parliament) Mushfig Jafarov told Report.

"Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine until today, about 10,000 of our compatriots have been evacuated to neighboring countries. I also want to note that the evacuation of Azerbaijani citizens from Ukraine is under the personal control of President Ilham Aliyev," he said.

According to him, the role of employees of embassies in Poland, Moldova, Hungary, Slovakia, and Romania in ensuring evacuation to Azerbaijan should be highly appreciated.

"Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs personally control the process and do everything possible to ensure the smooth return to our country even of those citizens who have problems with documents," he said.

It should be noted that 3,138 Azerbaijani citizens have been evacuated from Ukraine to their homeland. These included 1,908 people evacuated by charter flights and 1,263 people evacuated by land.
