The snap parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan held on September 1 once again demonstrated the stability of the country's political system, Russian observer, Director General of the Caspian Institute for Strategic Studies Igor Korotchenko said at a press conference on September 2, Report informs.
"Having visited about 15 polling stations in Baku and the suburbs yesterday, we [a group of independent Russian observers] can note the clear organization of the election process, the high level of training of the members of the election commission, the impeccable organization of the voting process, which was honest, fair, legitimate and met all the criteria of existing norms of election technologies in the world," he noted.
Korotchenko emphasized that in this regard, Azerbaijan once again demonstrated the perfection of its political system and its stability.
"In today's turbulent world, Azerbaijan is an island of stability, prosperity and confident movement forward. To a large extent, this is ensured, I repeat, by the political system of Azerbaijan, which responds to existing challenges and is the foundation for the forward movement of the Azerbaijani people under the leadership of the president,” the expert said.
