CIS chief: All candidates given equal opportunities to participate in elections in Azerbaijan

All candidates in the early presidential elections in Azerbaijan are given equal opportunities, head of the observer mission of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), CIS Secretary General Sergei Lebedev told journalists after visiting a number of polling stations in Baku.

Report quotes him as saying Azerbaijani media ensured good information coverage of the election campaigns of all candidates.

"Presidential candidates were given the opportunity to present their programs on television and in the printed press, and our long-term observers closely followed this process. That is, all candidates were given equal opportunities. This is also a very good positive factor," Lebedev concluded.
