Azerbaijani President: We must cherish Icharishahar

"Icharishahar is our national treasure, a magnificent monument in the history of world architecture, and a clear example of the talent of the Azerbaijani people. For centuries, the people of Azerbaijan protected the Icharishahar and its historical monuments and will continue to cherish it for centuries," President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said during a video conference with Shahin Seyidzade on March 3 in connection with his appointment as Chairman of the Board of Icharishahar State Historical and Architectural Reserve, Report informs.

"Each street of the Icharishahar, every corner, every stone is valuable and has historical significance. Castle walls, Maiden's Tower, Shirvanshah Palace, Mosques, Caravanserais, Museums, other historical monuments are a source of pride," the head of state said.
