The Office of the Ombudsman of Azerbaijan has issued a statement following the discovery of a minefield at the Saribaba height, Report informs.

“As a result of the demining work carried out by the engineering and sapper units of the Azerbaijani Army in the territories liberated from occupation, on November 21, 2022, 350 anti-personnel mines of the PMN-E type were discovered on the northern side of the Saribaba height, which were produced in Armenia in 2021 and planted by illegal Armenian armed groups.

Despite repeated calls to hand over accurate maps of the mined territories to our country, the Armenian side has not yet taken any practical steps, disregarding the norms of international law,” the statement says.

The office urged international organizations to take a decisive stance toward Armenia.
