Azerbaijan lifts some restrictions

Considering the decreasing number of COVID-19 cases and the need to strengthen economic activity, the Task Force under the Cabinet of Ministers decided to allow operation in some production, trade, and service areas, Report says. 

Under the relevant decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, the following are added to the list of areas permitted to operate in the cities of Baku, Sumgayit, Ganja, Yevlakh, Masalli, Jalilabad, Mingachevir and Absheron, Barda, Salyan, Khachmaz, Goranboy, Goygol regions from 00.00 on August 10, 2020:

- Holding outdoor sports competitions and games;

- Activities of trade facilities selling non-food products and facilities that provide household services to the population (except for large shopping centers);

- production of machinery and equipment;

- manufacture of electrical equipment;

- output of computer, electronic and optical products;

- production of cars, trailers, and semi-trailers;

- manufacture of other vehicles;

- production of printing products;

- manufacture of jewelry;

- production of musical instruments, sports goods;

-manufacture of wearing apparel;

- textile industry;

- production of shoes;

- manufacture of leather and leather products;

- production of tobacco products;

- production of other industrial products.

Restrictions on the engagement of 50 percent of employees and the number of permits issued to those working under a civil contract in such work and service areas not exceeding 30 percent of the total number of employees working under an employment contract are abolished:

- Production of daily care and hygiene products;

- Manufacturing and repair of construction and household equipment;

- Engineering and design services;

- Production of packaging goods;

- Manufacture of stone, metal and wood products;

- Manufacturing and repair of furniture;

- Zoo shops, including outlets for animal feed;

- Sales of construction materials and household items;

- Online sales;

- Dry cleaning;

- Cleaning of residential buildings except for apartments;

- Car repair;

- Car wash stations;

- Animal shelters;

- Translation services.

Entry and exit of the following persons to and from the territory of the cities of Baku, Sumgayit, Ganja, Yevlakh, Masalli, Jalilabad and Mingachevir, and Absheron, Barda, Salyan, Khachmaz, Goranboy and Goygol districts shall be carried out in the following order:

- Persons wishing to attend the funeral of a close relative based on a permit obtained from the 102 Call Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan;

- Based on a doctor's certificate in connection with an urgent medical need or scheduled treatment;

- Persons that possess tickets to domestic and international flights based on their tickets and persons who have entered the country from the state border based on a stamp in their passports.
