The Operational headquarters of the Cabinet of Ministers decided to extend the special quarantine regime in the country from 00:00 on April 20 till 00:00 on May 4.
The Headquarters extended all the measures specified in the decision No 124 of the Cabinet of Ministers dated April 2, 2020, including the restrictions on the entry to the territory of Azerbaijan and exit by land and air transport, local flights, excluding cargo transportation, as well as the suspension of teaching and learning process in all educational institutions until 00:00 on May 4.
A plan for a phased easing of lockdown restrictions will be introduced to the public this week.
The Operational Headquarters does not rule out loosening some curbs on various fields and even retightening the lockdown measures if necessary by analyzing the sanitary-epidemiological situation as well as the transmission dynamics of COVID-19 and the overall situation in the country.
Moreover, Azerbaijan will temporarily keep the borders closed with Iran and Georgia until May 4.
