Appeal demanding to reprimand Baroness Cox sent to UK parliament committee

The Azerbaijani community living in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is demanding that Caroline Ann Cox (Baroness Cox), a member of the House of Lords, be reprimanded for inflammatory Islamophobic statements. In this regard, on behalf of the chairman of the Azerbaijani community of Britain, Farida Panahova, an appeal was sent to Christopher John Bryant, chairman of the Committee on Standards and Privileges.

Report informs, citing the State Committee for Work with Diaspora, that the statement regarded Baroness Cox's tweets as deliberate incitement of hatred in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan and expressed the deep concern of the Azerbaijani community with these tweets and news that interfere with the peace process.

The statement voices regret that a member of the House of Lords abuses religion and promotes Islamophobia to attract the attention of right-wing politicians.

Given the serious implications of the tweets, the appeal asks the committee for a thorough investigation of the matter, as Baroness Cox's actions violate the standards and principles set by the House of Lords. In addition, it calls on the committee to take appropriate action, including reprimanding and condemning Baroness Cox.
