Orkhan Mammadov: Green Transformation of SMEs - important issue

The green transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) is an important issue on a global scale, Orkhan Mammadov, chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA) under the Ministry of Economy, said after signing the Baku Coalition Declaration on Green Climate Transition of SMEs in the Blue Zone within the COP29 in Baku, Report informs.

He noted that this document aims to support the green transformation of SMEs and take concrete measures in this direction: "This involves expanding financial support tools and conducting work to enhance knowledge and skills. KOBIA has initiated a global initiative on this issue. We are confident that member countries, by supporting this initiative, will accelerate the green transformation of SMEs."

Mammadov also noted that 90% of companies worldwide are SMEs: "Therefore, the Baku Declaration on Green Climate Transition of SMEs will be supported within the UN framework, and the more member countries support it, the more significant their contribution to the green transition of SMEs will be."
