The call from Baku can unite efforts to intensify actions aimed at overcoming the consequences of climate change, Jennifer Morgan, state secretary and special envoy for international climate action at the German Foreign Ministry, said at the high-level ministerial discussion panel "Climate and Peace" within COP29, Report informs.
"The Baku call can push us towards a new approach, towards partnership with governments, communities from conflict-affected regions, local actors and relevant UN institutions, towards joint, consistent programming developed with consideration of common views on climate change resilience taking into account specific conditions, and towards development of investment projects. Resilience projects are designed to demonstrate what is needed for joint, climate-resilient and conflict-sensitive development," she noted.
