EU working with Azerbaijan for successful COP29

The EU is working with the Azerbaijani government to ensure the successful implementation of COP29, Deputy Head of the European Union Delegation to Azerbaijan Zoltan Szalai said at an international seminar themed "Opportunities and Challenges for Climate Action. European and Regional Perspectives" held at ADA University in Baku on May 22, Report informs.

He noted that the EU is ready to propose ways and plans for the effective implementation of COP goals, to support Azerbaijan in promoting its climate policy in the field of transport, industry and environmental solutions.

The 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) will be held in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku, in November this year. This decision was made at the COP28 plenary meeting held in Dubai on December 11, 2023. As part of the event, Baku will host about 70,000-80,000 foreign guests.
