WEF announces venue of annual meeting

The World Economic Forum (WEF) will hold its Annual Meeting 2021 in Lucerne-Burgenstock, Switzerland, from May 18 to 21, Report informs, referring to foreign media.

The COVID-19 pandemic necessitated the change in schedule and venue. The event will return to its traditional venue only in 2022.

The meeting will take place around the theme of The Great Reset. It will focus on the solutions required to address the world's most pressing challenges. Global leaders will come together to design a common recovery path, to shape The Great Reset in the post-COVID-19 era, and rebuild a more cohesive and sustainable society.

Traditionally, the WEF holds its annual summit in the Swiss ski resort town of Davos in January. According to the decision adopted on August 26 this year, the meeting was changed from January to summer. Experts believe that it will not be possible to hold the conference in safe conditions in January.
