US resumes black caviar supplies to Azerbaijan

In the first two months of this year, 0.85 tons of black caviar (sturgeon caviar) worth $271,910 was imported to Azerbaijan.

Report informs, citing the State Statistics Committee, that this is 41% more in value and 33% in quantity compared to the same period last year.

Some 0.82 tons worth $248,840 were imported from China, and 0.03 tons worth $23,070 were imported from the United States. Compared to the same period in 2021, imports from China increased by 33% and 30.2%, respectively. After a year’s hiatus, supplies from the USA were resumed.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan exported 0.04 tons of black caviar worth $27,020. Some 0.01 tons of products worth $23,070 were exported to the United States, and 0.01 tons worth $3,950 were sent to an unspecified country. In the same period last year, Azerbaijan did not supply black caviar abroad.
