Two European countries start importing potatoes from Azerbaijan

In the first half of 2022, Azerbaijan imported 100,000 tons (+1.4%) of potatoes (excluding seed potatoes) worth $26.3 million (+11%), Report informs, citing the State Statistics Committee.
During the reporting period, 36,128 tons (-60.6 %) worth $8.9 million (-60%) were imported from Iran, 30,620 tons (+6 times) worth $7.7 million (+6 times) from Turkiye, 24,556 tons (+501 times) worth $7.4 million (+491 times) from Pakistan, 5,856 tons (+4 times) worth $1.5 million (+4.1 times) from Georgia, and 2,824 tons (+141 times) worth $847,000 (+212 times) from Ukraine.
In the reporting period, Azerbaijan exported 78,156 tons (-15%) of potatoes worth $35.1 million (-12%).
Russia imported 73,532 tons (-13.5%) worth $33.4 million (-12.8%), Belarus 1,886 tons (+42%) worth $776,000 (+2.2 times), Ukraine 1,414 tons (-70%) worth $561,000 (-47%), Georgia 527.6 tons (+7.8 times) worth $131,000 (+11 times), Lithuania 368.8 tons worth $91,000, and Slovenia 165.8 tons worth $43,000 from Azerbaijan.
This year Azerbaijan started exporting potatoes to Lithuania and Slovenia for the first time in 11 years (official statistics on foreign trade in open access are available until 2011).
