Turkiye resumes import of black roe from Azerbaijan

In January-October 2022, Azerbaijan imported 3.9 tons of sturgeon roe for $1.21 million, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistics Committee.

According to the committee, these figures are 20% and 17.5% more than in the previous year.

Azerbaijan purchased 3.87 tons (+17%) from China for $1.185 million (18.1% more than a year ago) and 0.03 tons from the US for $23,070 (import restored after a 1-year gap).

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan exported 0.23 tons (+4.6 times) of black roe for $269,290 (+4.3 times).

Azerbaijan exported 0.07 tons (+7 times) to the United Arab Emirates for $97,370 (+2.9 times), 0.09 tons (+4.5 times) to the United States for $64,470 (+4 times), 0.03 tons (+3 times) to an unspecified country (Purchased from Duty-Free Trade Shop for $55,820 (+13 times), 0.01 tons worth $16,330 to Singapore, 0.01 tons to Russia for $15,740 (there was no supply a year ago), 0.01 tons to Turkiye for $14,100, and 0.01 tons to New Zealand for $5,460.

Last year, for the first time in the past 11 years (publicly available official statistics on foreign trade are as of 2011), deliveries were made to Singapore and New Zealand. After a break of three years and two months, Turkiye resumed the import of black roe from Azerbaijan.
