Trade turnover 5% up in Baku

In January-June 2022, the volume of trade turnover in Baku increased by 4.6% compared to January-June 2021 and slightly exceeded 13 billion manats ($7.65 billion), Report informs with reference to the Statistics Department of Baku.

The total value of food, beverages and tobacco products sold in the trade network increased by 15.1% compared to the same period last year and amounted to almost 7.78 billion manats ($4.58 billion), while the volume of non-food products decreased by 7.5% and amounted to 5.226 billion manats ($3.07 billion).

According to the department, 36.1% of consumer goods were sold at enterprises with the status of a legal entity, 46.7% - in trade facilities owned by individual entrepreneurs, and 17.2% - in the grocery markets of the city.
