Russia is interested in strengthening and developing mutual relations with Azerbaijan, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk said at the opening of the Khanoba customs post on the border of the two countries.
"What is happening in the world today - the climate change, technological and energy transition - it all leads to the creation of new regions and commercial relations. This will also affect the international transport corridor North-South. We are building this corridor together with Azerbaijan and other countries. Motor transportation has already been established here. Today we used the new road, this infrastructure is already ready. In addition, negotiations are underway with Azerbaijan on the development of railway infrastructure. This project will connect Russia-Azerbaijan-Iran and the Persian Gulf," he said.
