KOBIA: 42 women applied to start business in Karabakh

So far, the Small and Medium Business Development Agency of Azerbaijan (KOBIA) has received 980 applications from entrepreneurs wishing to start a business in the liberated Azerbaijani territories, including 42 applications from women, Chairman of the KOBIA Board Orkhan Mammadov said at the conference “The role of women’s entrepreneurship in the economic development of Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur” in Baku, Report informs.

He noted that 24% of women’s appeals are related to investment projects, and 18% - to the implementation of other works and services.

“Of the projects presented by women entrepreneurs, 13 accounted for trade and services, 10 for industry, 6 for agriculture, 6 - tourism, 4 - construction, 2 - education, 1 – healthcare sector,” Mammadov said.
