Worldwide new car sales increased by 12.1% to 60.573 automobiles in January-September 2021, decreased by 20.3% to 6.299 vehicles in September 2021, Report informs, citing foreign media.
Last month, China became the leader in the market, selling 2.077 million cars, which is 16.5% less than a year ago. The reason is chip shortage.
Car sales in Western Europe went down 24.2% to 1.046 million, in Eastern Europe – 20.9% to 0.307 million.
The US sold 1.002 million cars, showing a 25.1% decline compared with a year earlier.
South America saw a 26.1% decline in car sales – 0.172 million automobiles.
