Georgia resumes purchase of eggplants from Azerbaijan

In the first half of this year, 6,556 tons of eggplants (+9.3%) worth $3,282 million (+9.4%) were imported to Azerbaijan, Report informs, citing State Statistics Committee.
In the reporting period, 6,432 tons (+13.6 %) worth $3.217 million (+14 %) were bought from Iran and 124.42 tons (-63 %) worth $64,490 (-62 %) from Turkiye.
During the first six months of 2022, 76.52 tons of eggplant (-53%) worth $48,520 (-75%) were sent abroad from Azerbaijan.
Russia imported 26.27 tons (-83.3%) worth $33,440 (-83%) and Georgia - 50.25 tons worth $15,070.
After a one-year and 10-month break, supplies to Georgia have been restored.
