Georgia resumes corn supply to Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan imported 18,615 tons of corn worth $5.44 million in January-February 2022, respectively, up 73% and 71.3% from the previous year, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.
In the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 18,210 tons (+74.3%) of corn worth $4.47 million (+98%) from Russia, 114 tons (+70.1%) worth $499,000 (+2.2-fold) from Serbia, 242 tons (+70.4%) worth $342,000 (-44.2%) from Turkiye, 30 tons worth $105,000 from Romania, 2.5 tons worth $11,300 from Italy, 23 tons worth $6,000 from Georgia and 200 kg (-99.8%) worth $180 (-99.7%) from Argentine.
In the first two months of 2021, Azerbaijan did not import corn from Romania and Italy. After 6 years and 9 months, Georgia resumed corn export to Azerbaijan.
