Georgia posts record-breaking chemical imports from Azerbaijan in Jan.-May 2024

In January-May of 2024, Georgia imported chemical and related industrial products worth $5.32 million from Azerbaijan.
According to calculations by Report based on data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia, this is the highest figure for the same period in at least the last 15 years and is 9% more year-on-year.
During the reporting period, Georgia's total chemical imports amounted to $634 million, marking a 12.6% increase from the previous year.
Türkiye emerged as the top chemical products exporter to Georgia, with exports valued at $167 million, followed by Germany ($57 million), France ($55 million), Switzerland ($55.31 million), and Russia ($42 million).
