Georgia increases trade turnover with Azerbaijan by 18%

In January-September 2021, the trade turnover between Georgia and Azerbaijan amounted to $789.8 million, up 18% from a year earlier, Report informs, citing the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GeoStat).
In the first nine months of 2021, Azerbaijan became Georgia's fourth-largest trade partner after Turkey, Russia, and China, with a 7.9% share in Georgia's total trade turnover.
In the reporting period, the exports from Georgia to Azerbaijan increased by 22.3% to $400.2 million, and imports from Azerbaijan rose by 8.1% to $389.7 million.
With a 13.4% share in Georgia's total exports, Azerbaijan ranks third among the main export partners of the Caucasus country after China and Russia. In total imports of Georgia, Azerbaijan, with a share of 5.5%, has become the fifth-largest import partner of Tbilisi after Turkey, Russia, China, and the US.
