Azerbaijan transports petroleum coke to India

Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) started to transport petcoke to India, Report informs, citing ADY Express, a subsidiary of the Azerbaijan Railways.

According to the information, ADY Express LLC continues to deliver the cargo to the Georgian port of Poti.

The petroleum coke is loaded into semi-wagons at Keshla station and transported to the port of Poti, where it is loaded on ships and delivered to the destination country by sea.

Initially, 25,000 tons of petcoke has been sent to India since the beginning of 2021, with the last batch of 1,000 tons already dispatched. Another 25,000 tons of petcoke are expected to be transported this month. Azerbaijan Railways CJSC and ADY Express LLC provided the wagon supply.

ADY Express delivered 27,000 tons of petroleum coke to the port of Poti in November-December 2020, which was also transported to China.
