Azerbaijan starts supplying waffles to one more country

In January-April this year, 256.98 tons of waffles and waffle packages worth $479,120 were sent from Azerbaijan abroad.

According to Report’s calculations based on the data of the State Statistics Committee, this is 30.5% more in value and 3.2% in quantitative terms compared to the same period last year.

Georgia bought 124.74 tons of products worth $190,870, Yemen - 80.64 tons worth $184,800, Iraq - 20.12 tons worth $46,280, Iran - 9.79 tons for $20,050, Moldova - 8.8 tons for $18,410.

Compared to a year ago, deliveries to Georgia increased by 12.1% and decreased by 2.6%, to Yemen - by 2.6 times and 2.1 times, to Iran - by 44.4% and 12.6% respectively.

After a year’s break, exports to Iraq were restored. This year, for the first time in the last 11 years (official statistics on foreign trade in open access until 2011), deliveries were made to Moldova.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 1,515 tons of waffles and waffle packages worth $3.73 million, which is 4.2% and 1.7% more than in the same period last year.

Some 931.23 tons of products were purchased from Russia for $1.841 million, from Turkiye - 337.91 tons for $1.224 million, from Bulgaria - 73.94 tons for $241,360, from Iran - 119.94 tons for $216,170, from Ukraine - 29.99 tons for $71,030.

Compared to the first four months of 2021, deliveries from Russia increased by 13.4% and 10.8%, respectively, from Turkiye - by 19.8% and 13.8%, from Bulgaria - decreased by 28.7% and 30.8%, from Iran - increased by 28.9% and 31.2%. A year earlier, Azerbaijan did not import waffles from Ukraine.
