Azerbaijan starts importing biscuits from one more country

In January-April this year, 5,758 tons of dry (sweet) biscuits were imported to Azerbaijan from abroad for $10.37 million.

According to Report’s calculations, based on the data of the State Statistics Committee, this is 15% more in value terms than in the same period last year, and 25% more in quantitative terms.

Some 1,574 tons (+31.8%) were imported from Turkiye for $4.144 million (+43.1%), from Russia – 1,297 tons (+9%) for $2.763 million (+13.8%), from Iran – 2,396 tons (+99.7%) for $1.941 million (+99.1%), from Ukraine - 211.99 tons (-63.9%) for $555,840 (-53.1%), from Kazakhstan - 154.68 tons (-52.8%) for $469,300 (-50%).

This year, for the first time in the last 11 years (official foreign trade statistics are in the public domain as of 2011), deliveries were made from Lebanon. Some 40 kg of biscuits were imported from this country for $1,000.
