Azerbaijan starts exporting sugar to Libya

In January-May of 2024, Azerbaijan exported 9,788 tons of sugar worth $7.4 million, 43% less in quantity and 40% less in value year-on-year, Report informs citing the State Statistics Committee.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan sold 7,744 tons of sugar (-27%) worth $5.6 million (-26%) to Turkmenistan, 1,664 tons (no exports were made last year) worth $1.45 million to Tajikistan, 242 tons (-38%) worth $249,000 (-49%) to Russia, 127 tons (-96.4%) worth $115,000 (-95%) to Georgia, and 3.66 tons (-95%) worth $4,540 (-91%) to Kazakhstan.
Azerbaijan exported sugar to Libya (0.5 ton worth $500) for the first time in 13 years (official statistics on foreign trade in open access since 2011).
