Azerbaijan significantly increases investments in Georgia

In the third quarter of 2021, Azerbaijan invested $2,993,800 in the Georgian economy, Report informs, citing the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GeoStat).

According to GeoStat, this figure is 5.1 times more than in the second quarter.

Azerbaijan has withdrawn $27.332 million (including $6.3 million in the first quarter of 2021) from Georgia from the fourth quarter of 2019 to the end of the first quarter of 2021.

Azerbaijan began investing in the Georgian economy in the second quarter this year.

In the second and third quarters of this year, the total amount of Azerbaijani investments in Georgia made up $3,584,200. In both quarters, Georgia attracted a total of $597 million in foreign direct investment, of which 0.5% fell to the share of Azerbaijan.
