In January-September 2021, Azerbaijan imported 64,954 cars worth $659.1 million (respectively, up 68.1% and 42.45% from the same period last year), Report informs, referring to State Customs Committee.
According to the Committee, the number of cars with a seating capacity of ten or more seats increased by 18.5% to 141 ($ 20.1 million), and the number of passenger cars and other motor vehicles rose by 68.1% to 60,578 ($ 562.7 million).
Of these, 8,779 ($54 million) are hybrid electric vehicles, and 93 ($2.3 million) are electric cars.
It means a 2.4-fold increase in the first and a 34.5% decrease in the second.
Meanwhile, vehicles for cargo transportation grew by 73.45% to 4,123 ($64.2 million), and special vehicles rose by 24.4% to 112 ($12.6 million).
