Azerbaijan sees 31% decline in positive balance of foreign trade turnover

In January-August 2019, Azerbaijan’s trade operations with foreign countries amounted to $22,901,835,000, up 16% from the previous year, Report informs citing the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan.

Export accounted for $ 13,519,907,000 or 59% of foreign trade turnover, up 5% or $639,000,000 from the previous year. Import made up $9,381,929,000 or 41%, up 36.7% or $2,518,477,000.

Consequently, the positive balance of trade turnover amounted to $1,878,514,000, down 31.2% from a year earlier.
