Azerbaijan’s bean imports from Madagascar soar

In January-May 2024, Azerbaijan imported 2,694 tons of beans (dried) worth $3.6 million, 94% more in quantity and 2 times more in value compared to a year ago, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan bought 1,000 tons (+72%) of beans worth $1.5 million (+87%) from Uzbekistan, 120 tons (no delivery a year ago) worth $147,000 from Myanmar, 70,200 tons (no delivery a year ago) worth $115,000 from Egypt, 65 tons (+93 times) worth $86,000 (+99 times) from Madagascar, and 22 tons worth $41,000 from Ukraine (no delivery a year ago).
